Hottest Spring Products For 2008

Do you want 15 more yards off the tee?  Are you searching for long iron replacements?  Whatever you're searching for we have some answers for your golf game this season.

If you play golf regularly and haven't upgraded your driver in a couple of years you might consider making a change for this spring.  The technology is different internally and externally.  Not only have manufacturers increased the size of most of the drivers to the maximum limit of 460 cubic centimeters, they have manipulated the wall thickness in the clubface to increase ball speed on off-center hits.  Additionally, manufacturers are increasing the MOI (moment of inertia, which essentially means resistance to twisting) by taking weight away from less important areas of the clubhead and redistributing that weight to the lower backside of the clubhead, giving them more stability than ever before.

Here are some new spring products I suggest you check out for this season:

TITANIUM DRIVERS - This year's all-titanium clubhead driver models perform better when it comes to achieving optimal ball speed, spin rate and launch angle.  The Burner, Burner Tour, and CGB  are models this season from Taylor Made for Spring 08.  Callaway has the new Hyper X and Big Bertha 460 for this spring also.

COMPOSITE DRIVERS -The multi-material clubhead driver models push the limits of weight distribution. By using lightweight carbon composites, manufacturers can relocate the weight to where it is needed most.  The Callaway FT-i and FT-5 drivers are our best sellers in the premium driver category.

FAIRWAY WOODS - A lot of people are hesitant to change their fairway woods, fearing the performance differences aren't enough to justify the expense.  But this is not the case. Just look at the new square shaped fairway woods from Callaway. This model push more weight to the farthest corners of the clubhead, giving you more stable shots than ever before.   Some manufacturers have made a 4-wood with the actual length of a 3-wood shaft, so it's really a high lofted 3-wood designed to help players who need height to get more distance.

HYBRIDS - If you haven't jumped on the hybrid bandwagon yet, you're really missing out. These clubs are just so much easier to hit than long irons. If you are fighting a slice, you might want to look at the Taylor Made R7 Draw.  If you simply want a hybrid for those long shots into the green, check out the Taylor Made Burner Rescue, Callaway FT Hybrid or X-series all models have different lofts available.

PERFORMANCE GAME-IMPROVEMENT IRONS - These irons are designed for golfers looking for forgiveness and workability.  Some of the new models are the Callaway X20, Taylor Made Burner, and CGB.

GOLF BALLS - The Titleist Pro V1 golf balls are by far the best-selling balls in the pro shop, but have you tried other golf balls from other manufacturers.  New this season is the Taylor Made Burner, Burner TP, TP Black DLP, and TP Red DLP.  Callaway also has introduced the Tour i, Tour ix, HX Hot Bite. Top-Flite has introduced the Gamer which is a value three-piece golf ball that is an excellent choice for the price.

PUTTERS - Odyssey has been one of the most popular putters in the pro shop for the past three or four seasons. New this season from Odyssey is the Black Series i models which has a new multi-layer insert for better feel. One new models this season from Odyssey is the Sabretooth.   The Rossa putter line from Taylor Made is also gaining some popularity with a very popular model called the Spider on tour this season.  This new putter has and extreme high MOI  and movable weight technology.

So stop by the pro shop this spring and check out the latest equipment, and remember if we don't have what exactly you are looking for we can order it in for you. Also if new clubs don't fit your budget this spring remember we get used clubs in all the time so stop by and check out our new and used clubs for sale.
